I chose this topic so I could sit back on the couch at home with a bowl of popcorn and watch movies while calling it research. What better time to do so than now while the world is currently in lockdown due to Covid19.
I reviewed 33 films that were focused on characters with disabilities. I think the six movies I recommend in this blog represent people living with disabilities in a positive way. And tell stories that give insight into disability issues and challenges without being ‘inspirational porn’ or absolute tragedies.
